Egg-cellent event raises £350
Wolverhampton Specsavers has raised more than £350 in aid of the Deanesly Centre oncology unit at New Cross Hospital by hosting an egg-cellent Easter fundraiser.
The team in the Wulfrun Centre invited customers and local residents down to the store on Saturday 15 April to indulge in some home-baked goods and enter two competitions – ‘guess the name of the bunny’ and ‘guess the number of eggs in the jar’ – with all proceeds being donated to the cause.
A word from the store director
‘We’re thrilled to hand over this donation to the Deanesly Centre,’ said store director Hardip Bahia. ‘Our team did a brilliant job in organising the event and it’s great to be able to raise awareness for the fantastic work the Deanesly Centre team do in the community.
‘Thank you to our generous customers who donated, it was lovely to see so many familiar faces over the weekend.’
