Specsavers Yardley has been recognised for its commitment to staff and excellence in employment practices with a leading professional award.

Specsavers in The Swan Centre received a Platinum Employer Award following an independent assessment covering five areas, including recruitment and induction, performance management, and learning and development.

A word from the store director

Dee Browning, Specsavers Yardley store director, said: ‘We’re really proud to have received the Platinum Employer Award. We want the store to be a great place to work and the award lets us know that we are doing all the right things.

‘Our recent focus has been on mental health in the workplace. After a member of the team suffered mental health issues, it really brought the subject close to home and I attended a training course to learn more about what we can do as an employer.

‘We encourage honest and open conversation with all of our staff about mental health and ensure they can talk to the management team whenever they need support.’ 

The Platinum Employer initiative was designed and verified by employee engagement specialist, Korn Ferry Hay Group, to support the recruitment and retention of high-calibre Specsavers employees.
