George Jones has eye on Red Nose Day at Bangor opticians
Local broadcaster and loyal customer at the Bangor Bloomfield Specsavers store, George Jones made his face funny for money in support of Red Nose Day 2015, when he recently popped into the store. The well-known broadcaster was picking up a new pair of glasses when he spotted the comedy glasses and decided to give them a try!
Funny for money
The official Red Nose Day glasses are on sale at Specsavers in Bloomfield Shopping Centre - hilariously they are bright red, complete with hair raising eyebrows and come in small or large sizes, for just £3, with £1 donated to Comic Relief.
As well as selling the glasses, staff and directors at the store will be throwing a party this weekend (Saturday 07 March) to raise even more money for Comic Relief.
Andrea Ridgway, store director said: ‘George is great sport and a fantastic supporter of our store, we’re delighted he took the opportunity to look funny for money! We’re looking forward to the party atmosphere in store; we’ll be giving out treats to all our visitors and there will be face painting and balloon modelling for the kids. We’re also going to turn red for the day, so our staff will all be wearing red in support of Comic Relief 2015.’
Helping at home and abroad
Specsavers in Bangor has joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa. Whether it’s at home, work or school, the public are being encouraged to make their faces funny for money this Red Nose Day, which takes place on Friday 13 March.
