Fundraising week is child’s play
Children were in the frame at Specsavers in Droitwich for an action packed week to raise funds for charity.
The team hosted a week full of kid friendly activities to raise funds for the local children’s hospice, Acorns. The store played host to a face painter and offered colouring, goody bags and balloons to its younger customers for the week.
The activity also coincides with the launch of the store’s latest addition to its children’s collections, Finding Dory - the new Disney film out this summer. Exclusive to Specsavers, the range includes four different underwater-inspired frames so kids can channel their favourite fishy characters. Designed to ensure the best anatomical fit for young faces, the glasses are priced at £64 and are free for under-16s with an NHS optical voucher.
A word from the store director
Store director Emma Singh said: ‘It’s the start of the summer holidays so thought we’d help ease parents’ tasks a little by offering plenty of fun for their little ones when they come to town, while raising funds for one of our nominated local charities Acorns.’
Acorns Children’s Hospice works to provide care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Relying on the generosity of supporters to fund its ongoing work, Acorns operates three hospices across the Midlands which have supported more than 980 families in the past year.
