Ipswich Specsavers is celebrating after a successful fundraising event which raised £749 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Staff from Specsavers Ipswich, located at 23-25 Eastgate Shopping Centre, undertook two weeks’ worth of in store activity to help raise vital funds for the group of hospices. Worthwhile cause EACH supports families and provide care for children and young people with life-threating conditions across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex.
Throughout the activity staff members dressed as popular children’s television characters including Peppa Pig and Kung Fu Panda. Customers were also treated to an array of treats such as cake sales, raffles to win designer glasses and prizes donated from High Street retailers. Staff also offered glasses MOT’s to help raise further funds.
Generosity of locals
Store director, Mark Taggart says: ‘We are absolutely overwhelmed with the support from our customers and Ipswich residents. Raising this amount of money in just two weeks is pretty impressive and will bring us closer to Specsavers’ regional £25,000 fundraising pledge.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices fundraiser, Mark Loades says: ‘We have been really impressed with the charitable efforts of Specsavers stores across the region. ‘This generous pledge will help us to continue our work and provide care and support to families of children who have been diagnosed with terminal illnesses.
