£1,000 raised for Children’s Hospice South West
Children’s Hospice South West has received a donation of £1,000 from Specsavers in Teignmouth after three months of fundraising.
Range of fundraising activities
Staff at Specsavers have done a range of activities to raise the money, including store director Simon Simmonds braving the Three Peaks Challenge by climbing the highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales, optical assistant Amanda Davies taking part in the London Marathon and in-store collection tins.
Making a difference at Children's Hospice South West
Mr Simmonds says: ‘We’re so happy to be giving this cheque to Children’s Hospice South West.'
‘Over the past three months, we’ve all worked hard to encourage people to donate their money and make a difference. It’s vital that the charity gets all the support it needs so that it continues to do such fantastic work for children and their families.’
Reliant on voluntary donations
Naomi Dymond, the corporate partnerships fundraiser for Children’s Hospice South West at Little Bridge House says: “We are extremely grateful to Simon and the team for all their amazing fundraising efforts, and can’t thank them enough.'
'We rely almost entirely on voluntary donations so each and every penny raised helps us to continue to provide vital care and support for local families, when they need us the most. On behalf of all the children and families we care for, thank you for helping us to continue to make the most of short and precious lives.”
