Fundraising for a spectacular cause
Specsavers in Burton-on-Trent is inviting customers to get involved in their Red Nose Day fundraising.
The team are encouraging local residents to join them on Friday 24 March and take part in this year’s Comic Relief theme ‘give us a wave’ with Specsavers’ official Red Nose Day glasses.
The glasses, which are available in store, come in children’s and adult sizes and are just £2, with all the money donated to Comic Relief.
Customers are also being encouraged to take a waving selfie while wearing the glasses and share it on social media using the hashtag #giveusawave.
A great cause
Store director Linda Joyce said: ‘Comic Relief is such a great cause and one that we always fundraise for. We’ve had fantastic support for charity initiatives in the past from our local community and I’m certain that this year will be no different.’
Members of staff will be taking part in a Red Nose Day sweepstake during the week running up to the big day, and are organising a charity quiz night to raise additional funds.
‘We will all be dressed up and sporting the Specsavers’ Red Nose Day glasses on the day with the aim of raising as much money as we can,’ Lisa continued. ‘We want to encourage everyone, young and old, to visit us in store on 24 March to join in the fun!’
Specsavers in Burton-on-Trent has joined other stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa and pledged to raise at least £250,000 for the charity.
