Generous Hereford residents have helped Specsavers to raise more than £6,000 for the Little Princess Trust.

Having set a target of £5,500 earlier in the year, the team went all out. They organised a whole host of events and activities which eventually saw them raise £6,204 for the charity which provides real hair wigs to children who have lost their hair during cancer treatment.

Events have included a quiz night, a charity bake off, a treasure hunt and a Take That tribute night held at the Left Bank. The store was overwhelmed with the response from the local community which helped them to surpass their original target.

A word from the store director

‘It’s been a real team effort and everyone has put in a huge amount of work,’ said store director Nialle Smith. ‘We raised £500 from the bake sale alone so we’d like to say a very big thank you to everyone who helped us raise such a fantastic amount. The Take That tribute night was possibly the highlight though with a packed-out audience enjoying a performance from Rule the World. We were all thrilled to be able to hand over the cheque to the Little Princess Trust.’
