The Newcastle-Under-Lyme team certainly rose to the charity challenge as they created a selection of scrummy cakes to raise dough for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The store collected just over £200 as part of the team’s Macmillan’s Coffee Morning event, selling homemade cakes and mouth-watering biscuits to hungry customers.

Alongside the cake sale, a ‘count the spots on the cake’ raffle was organised which saw customers win a series of donated prizes including Bayliss and Harding gift sets, Playstation 4 games and bottles of prosecco.

Store manager Michelle Lewis said: ‘The heat was on and the day was a fantastic success! We’ve always felt a bond with Macmillan because it’s a charity close to all our star bakers in store.’
