Specsavers Evesham celebrated the season of giving on Saturday 14 December by raising money to fund the work of Guide Dogs UK.
The store hosted a fundraiser with an array of homebaked sweet treats available in exchange for a donation, raising just over £175 for the charity.
Guest of honour
The team also welcomed Evesham local, Carol and her wonderful dog, Gilberg, to the store to share the message of the positive effect a guide dog can have for those living with sight loss.
A word from the store director
‘Guide Dogs are just incredible,’ said Specsavers Evesham store director, Amy Liau. ‘The festive period felt like a great time to give back to them and the amazing work the charity does as a whole, with some fundraising in store.
‘The team did us proud with their baking and made lots of wonderful cakes to sell. And, as always, our customers and the local community were incredibly generous. We’d like to say thank you to everyone who donated. Just £5 can support a working guide dog for a day so the money we raised really will make a difference.’
Guide Dogs UK provides life-changing services to aid the independence of people living with sight loss. Its ambition is a future where every person with sight loss has the confidence and support they need to live their lives to the full.
