Specsavers staff in Stourport-on-Severn took part in the Race for Life event raising more than £100 for Cancer Research UK.
The team of four – made up of Sadie Bannister, Becky Fielding, Vicky Fellows and Alex Kuligowski – battled obstacles along the five kilometre mud run, which took place at Cofton Park.
‘The whole team had been training regularly before the event to make sure we were able to give it our best and raise as much money as we could,’ said Sadie Bannister, optical assistant.
‘Most people know somebody who has been affected by cancer, and it is only by raising money through events such as Race for Life that we can help fund research to find a cure.’
Tim Reeves, store director, said: ‘I’m really proud of our team members who took part in the event. They showed real commitment leading up to the race and have raised lots of money for Cancer Research.’
Race for Life is organised by Cancer Research UK and has organised around 300 events across the UK in 2014. To find out more about the event, or to take part in Race for Life yourself, visit
