Specsavers Frome focus on road safety throughout December by giving out free high visibility vests to local children

Specsavers in Frome is focusing on safety throughout December as staff offer free high visibility vests to children in order to help them stay safe and seen this winter.

As part of Specsavers’ co-sponsorship of Brake’s annual campaign, Road Safety Week (17-23 November), the store is offering free high visibility vests to each child that comes in for an eye examination*. Parents will also be able to take advantage of a free sight test during December.

Paul Rich, store director at Frome, said: ‘By offering high vis vests to children who come in for a sight test, we are not only hoping to promote greater awareness around eye health but also to instil a greater awareness of safety in Frome. This is particularly important during the winter, when visibility and light can be limited so we are calling all residents to put safety first and be considerate to one another.

‘We have about 200 vests to give out to children, so if you would like to claim one for your family, please do stop by during the run-up to Christmas.’

Specsavers is the co-sponsor of Road Safety Week, the UK’s flagship road safety event, which is organised by charity Brake. It’s an opportunity to help raise awareness about the importance of protecting people on bikes and foot as well as raise funds for a worthwhile cause.
