Staff and customers at the audiologists in Greenock were treated to a special appearance from four-legged visitors from Hearing Dogs.
Visiting Greenock to raise awareness of hearing loss
The working dogs, who assist those with hearing impairments, visited Specsavers Audiologists in the town alongside representatives from the charity.
The special guests visited the store to help raise awareness of hearing loss and raised almost £40 for the charity during the visit.
Thomas Allison, clinical audiologist at Specsavers Audiologists in Greenock said: ‘The Hearing Dogs were very popular with our customers. It was a delight to have them in the store for a few hours and their presence really helped to demonstrate the fantastic work the charity carries out to assist those with a hearing impairment.
‘The charity’s clever dogs not only help to save lives, but provide a sense of independence and confidence to their companions.’
Hearing Dogs trains dogs to alert deaf people to sounds they would otherwise miss, including the doorbell, alarm clocks and fire alarms.
