Locally owned and operated Specsavers Cupar is marking its one year anniversary of looking after the sight and hearing of the town with a family fun day in store.

Since opening in March 2019, Specsavers Cupar has completed more than 3,800 eye tests and hundreds of hearing tests. As a thank you, customers can enjoy a 25% discount in store from 16–22 March (conditions apply) and everyone is invited to join the celebrations on Saturday 21 March.

The family fun day from 11am-4pm will include face painting and balloon modelling for kids, a raffle for two pairs of glasses worth up to £169 in aid of Alzheimers Scotland and cake for both customers and colleagues to enjoy.

The store team is managed by owner and director Robert Adie, a Fife local who has more than 11 years’ experience with Specsavers.

This state-of-the-art opticians and audiologists at 32 Crossgate represents a £360,000 investment for Cupar and created six job opportunities locally when it opened. Investment has since continued at the store with ongoing training and development for the team.

Robert Adie, store director at Specsavers Cupar, said: ‘It’s been a fantastic first year for us and we’ve loved engaging with the community and meeting new customers. We hope to build on this momentum and further integrate ourselves into the Cupar community in the months and years to come.

‘I’d like to thank my colleagues and our visitors for their support in our first year of trading – I hope lots of customers will be able to join us for our family fun day later this month.’

Specsavers Cupar offers advanced optical services six days a week and a dedicated audiology clinic twice a week from a custom-built soundproof room. It’s fully equipped with the latest technology and equipment including an OCT (optical coherence tomography) scan, which can help detect treatable eye conditions sooner.

The scan, which only takes a few seconds, allows an optician to look deeper into the eyes than ever before and it can help to detect glaucoma up to four years in advance.

An OCT scan is in addition to a standard eye test and costs £10, it can be requested in advance when booking an appointment or in store.

Catering for all budgets and the fashion conscious residents of Cupar, the store is designed with a large retail space at the front to display a wide variety of glasses from all ranges including its designer collections.

Finding the perfect pair of frames is made easy at Specsavers with Frame Styler. This unique in-store technology, is a facial recognition tool designed exclusively by Specsavers to give glasses wearers the confidence to find the right specs style for them.

To book an appointment at Specsavers Cupar and try FrameStyler or book an OCT scan, please call 01334 808 424 or pop into the store at 32 Crossgate, Cupar.
