Specsavers in Burton is ensuring that everyone in the community feels loved this Christmas by donating gift-filled hampers to the Love Inspire Foundation, which distribute them to families who need a helping hand over the festive period.

Charity hampers

Members of the team are encouraging local residents to take part in the campaign and donate an item to help the team make up the charity hampers.

The store is happy to accept any items that will help out local families this Christmas such as chocolates, mince pies, Christmas puddings, stuffing mix and cranberry sauce. The cut-off date for bringing items into the store is Sunday 17 December.

A word from the store director

‘For many of us, Christmas is a time for happiness and excitement, but there are so many people in our local community who struggle to cover the costs and it can turn into stress and panic. We aim to change this,’ commented store director, Linda Joyce.

‘We supported Love Inspire earlier in the year by collecting school uniform items, and we are delighted to be collecting hampers for the foundation to help the community through what can be a financially difficult time of year.’

The Love Inspire Foundation

The Love Inspire Foundation aims to provide relief for those in a crisis, help with debt prevention and planning for the future. As well as relieving poverty, people come back to the charity for weekly meetings as they find it empowering to develop their skills and start recognising there is a way out.
