The team at Specsavers Faversham in Preston Street are committed to doing their bit to protect the environment.

Which is why store director Joanna Wyndham was so delighted to be able to support and attend the KM Green School Awards earlier this month.

Great local projects

Seven schools triumphed at the awards, which aim to promote the amazing environmental campaigns and work carried out by pupils and teachers.

Categories included prizes for best green travel, best recycling and best walking bus, amongst others. The awards were presented by KM newsreader Nicola Everitt.

Protect the environment

Joanna said: ‘The awards were incredibly inspiring. It is brilliant to see so many young people doing so much to protect the environment so early in life.

‘We all need to do our bit, and projects like these start building great habits at a young age. Well done to everyone who was nominated, and all the winners.’
