Specsavers in Farnborough has collected almost 400 glasses in just one month for Vision Aid Overseas (VAO).

Old and unused glasses

Specsavers, located at the Princes Mead Centre, has been asking people to donate their old and unused glasses to the charity, which provides eyecare services for people in Zambia.

Community generosity

Store director Danny Solel says: ‘We’re so grateful for the generosity of Farnborough residents. We collected a total of 390 pairs of glasses in March alone.

‘We’re keen to hit the 500 mark and keep up this drive by encouraging more people to donate. It’s important that we provide opportunities for those who don’t have access to good quality eyecare services.’
