Worthy causes

Specsavers in Falkirk held a number of fundraising events in 2015, with proceeds donated to charities including Comic Relief, Strathcarron Hospice, Guide Dogs Scotland and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Highlights included a £500 donation to Denny-based Strathcarron Hospice after pledging to donate £1 for every eye examination carried out over a three week period.

Staff at the opticians also asked customers to dig deep in support of Comic Relief during a sponsored in-store cycle. Store director Zander McNaughton cycled 100 miles in six-and-a-half hours and raised £415.

Fantastic fundraisers

Jonathan Cawley, store director at Specsavers in Falkirk, said: ‘We are very pleased to have raised such a fantastic figure for so many worthy charities over the past twelve months.

‘We really stepped up our fundraising efforts and staff and customers thoroughly enjoyed the fundraisers.

‘We hope to continue to support more great charities and organisations over the coming year.’
