Eyeing up a career in optics
Three members of staff at Specsavers Solihull are in the frame for long service awards.
200 years of service
Catherine Hammond, clinical assistant, and Gill Jones, meeter and greeter, are both celebrating five years with the store, while Steve Edwards, lab technician, is celebrating 10 years. The trio join other long serving members of the team with a collective tally of more than 200 years!
All three members joined with no optical experience, but quickly developed their skills and aptitude for employment in optics.
Catherine has attained her Cert 3 and Cert 4 qualifications and supports the leadership team. While Steve, who has a background in engineering, has thrived in his role as lab technician. Gill is the store’s 'frontline' meeter and greeter, leading with exceptional service having received two Customer First Awards. At 72, Gill is aiming to be the oldest employee within Specsavers and looking forward to the next five years.
