Directors from Specsavers stores in Essex will be joining together on an epic cycling adventure, to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Aiming for £10K
During the ride, which will take place from 24 to 28 July, the peloton will ride 300 miles from London to Paris, in hopes of raising a target of £10,000.
Regional relationship manager of Specsavers stores in Essex, Roy Thorogood says: ‘The Alzheimer’s Society does fantastic work supporting the 820,000 people in the UK who are affected by Alzheimer’s and Dementia, as well as their 23 million friends and family. It’s a cause that’s close to many of our hearts.

‘We’ve previously cycled shorter routes around Essex during Dementia Awareness Week, raising over £3,000 in the past two years for the charity. This year we’re pushing our challenge even further.’
Many Specsavers staff members across Essex have received training to become Dementia Friends and support those affected in their local areas.
Dementia Awareness Week this year runs from 20-24 May.
