A word from the store director
Stuart Anglin, store director of Specsavers in Cirencester said: ‘Being more aware of dementia is an incredibly positive development for our team and our offering to customers.
‘The entire store are now qualified Dementia Friends and can be easily identified by their badges. I think the team feel much more confident to ensure any customers with dementia feel safe and are looked after in a sensitive way.
'We are always keen to go the extra mile and I’ve no doubt that this will benefit both our staff and our customers.’
The comprehensive training covers all aspects of dementia and discusses how it affects people in different ways. With particular relevance to Specsavers it also describes how senses can be affected, including sight and hearing.
