A day in the life of an apprentice in Specsavers Hunstanton
Every day in the store is different for Emma. One day she is pre-screening customers ahead of their eye examination and the next she is helping customers pick out glasses to match their prescription and personal style.
Time to study
In addition to shadowing staff members, Emma is also given four hours a week to study and complete the online training modules and assessments.
Emma’s advice for potential apprentices
Emma said: ‘There’s no doubt you learn a lot as an apprentice, at quite a pace too! Probably the best day for me so far was when I completed some mock assessments and suddenly realised how much I had learnt. It was a fantastic feeling. If you get the chance, don’t think twice, apply for an apprenticeship!’
A word from the director
Paul Eagling, Specsavers Hunstanton store director, said: ‘We’re all really proud of Emma. She works incredibly hard and is a great asset to the team. Apprenticeships are the ideal way to support the future of any business as well as helping the next generation of employees for many industries. As Emma says, don’t think twice, employ an apprentice today.’
