Eggs for eye exams in Dudley
In the run-up to Easter, Dudley Specsavers collected Easter eggs to be donated to children who would be spending the holidays in Russell’s Hall Hospital.
As part of the campaign, customers were asked to bring chocolate eggs into the store, receiving a free eye examination in return.
Paul Cross, store director, said: ‘It’s never easy being in hospital, but it must be particularly hard for children to be away from home and their families over the holidays. We’d like to say a special thanks to all those who donated chocolate eggs; hopefully, our small gesture will be a lovely surprise that will help brighten the children’s time in hospital.’
The Specsavers team has been a long time supporter of Russell’s Hall, raising more than £700 for the hospital in 2014. Throughout 2015, staff will continue to lend their support to the hospital once more, raising funds for the Georgia Ward at Russell’s Hall Hospital by donating £1 for every eye exam carried out in store between 12 to Saturday 18 April.
