Ebbw Vale opticians welcomes three new directors
A trio of new directors have joined Specsavers in Ebbw Vale to oversee the optical and hearcare business.
Taking the helm
Husband and wife Sejal and Ankit Shah, aged 30 and 31, and Paul Smith, 40, have taken the helm at the Bethcar Street store, replacing former director Andrew Sutton who stepped down in September 2015.
Mr and Mrs Shah bring almost a decade of optical experience with them to their new role. Both completed their pre-registration training with Specsavers and qualified as optometrists in 2009. They have taken directorship of the store after completing Specsavers’ recruitment programme, Pathway.
The pair are also joined by Paul Smith who has more than 20 years’ retail experience, having previously worked for Specsavers stores in the south of England and more recently he spent 13 years with Scrivens as regional manager.
‘Thrilled to take the next step’
Mrs Shah said: ‘The store has already had a successful 24 years in business on Bethcar Street, so we saw this as a real opportunity to come on board and work in this thriving community. Having worked for Specsavers for almost a decade, my husband and I are thrilled to take the next step of our career as store directors.’
Paul Smith, who has relocated from Bournemouth to south Wales to take on the new role, said: ‘It’s a very exciting time for Sejal, Ankit and I as we welcome customers old and new into the store.
‘I’m looking forward to being involved in a business where I can personally have a big impact on creating a positive environment for staff and customers. I’m sure we’ll be a strong addition to the team here in Ebbw Vale Specsavers.’
