A new hearing service has launched in East Kilbride, offering locals free in-store tests and advice on hearing protection and loss.

The hi-tech Specsavers Hearing Centre – based in the Specsavers store in East Kilbride Shopping Centre – will bring years of experience in taking care of the nation’s hearing to the town.

To mark the launch, locals were treated to an opening day spectacular that included a drop-in clinic with delicious cakes to sample and a visit from Specsavers’ very own giant ear mascot.

The hearing service has already been a great success so far, with appointments filling up to see the store’s experienced audiologist.
As well as offering free hearing tests, the Specsavers Hearing Centre professionals can tell customers everything they need to know about the incredible range of digital hearing aids available.

Designed and built by world-leading manufacturers, Specsavers’ digital aids feature the latest innovations in hearing assistance – some even know when the wearer is at home or in a favourite restaurant and adapt accordingly.

Shirley-Ann Kennedy, store director of Specsavers in East Kilbride, said: ‘Our team has been part of the East Kilbride community for 25 years so it’s incredibly exciting to expand our offering to take care of locals’ eyes and ears.

‘We’ve made a further investment in the store to offer more people across the area a quality, convenient and thorough hearing assessment, hearing aid and aftercare service.’

Ryan Forbes, Specsavers Hearing Centres director, says: ‘Specsavers Hearing Centres have been available across the majority of the UK for many years so we’re thrilled to offer our experience and innovative digital hearing aids to a wider audience.

‘I find my job very rewarding as a direct result of finding the best hearing aid to suit a person’s lifestyle and improve their quality of life.

‘We would welcome anyone to contact the East Kilbride store for a free hearing assessment with our highly trained team or ask advice on hearing problems.’
