Tamworth Specsavers hosted a fun day on Saturday 11 July as it raises money for a national volunteering charity, the Royal Voluntary Service.
Family friendly fun
The team at Specsavers will put on an array of family friendly activities throughout the day including a raffle, with tickets available for a suggested donation of £1 per strip; all proceeds go to the Royal Voluntary Service. A face painter will also be on hand to entertain the store’s younger visitors.
‘The whole team is really looking forward to welcoming customers into the store to join in the fun as we raise money for a very worthy cause,’ said Laura Hale, audiologist and store director at Tamworth Specsavers. ‘We’re very proud to be supporting the Royal Voluntary Service, which does some fantastic work to support elderly people in communities across the country, including here in Tamworth.
‘Hearing loss can affect every aspect of an older person’s life and by holding our fun day on Saturday, we hope to raise awareness of age-related hearing loss, the signs to look out for and how to access help.’
About the charity
With more than 35,000 volunteers, the Royal Voluntary Service is one of the UK’s largest volunteer organisations, providing practical support and advice to help people stay active and independent as they get older.
