Dumfries gives generously to charity this Christmas
Specsavers in Dumfries is donating more than £1000 to charity this Christmas.
The store is giving £500 to the Dumfries and Galloway branch of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and is also donating £500 to South West Scotland Rest and Recuperation – a charity which helps injured soldiers on the journey to recovery.
Staff are also offering a £100 charity donation as part of their hamper giveaway.
A luxury Christmas hamper is up for grabs for any customer who purchases a new pair of glasses from the store until Tuesday 22 December. Every glasses purchase will be rewarded with free entry into a prize draw.
The hamper, worth around £100, is packed with locally-sourced goodies, as well as a charity voucher to the value of £100. The money will go to the winner’s charity of choice.
Thrilled to donate
Store director Jill Dickson said: ‘Supporting charitable organisations is very important to us, so we’re thrilled to be able to donate this Christmas.
‘As a successful business in the town, it’s vital that we give something back and lend a hand to groups that do fantastic work out there in our communities.
‘Giving away the hamper is a thank you to all of our customers and will give one of them a very special festive treat, along with the chance to donate to charity.’
