Droitwich Specsavers has pledged to collect non-perishable items and emergency food supplies for those in need this Christmas season.
The Specsavers store, located in St. Andrew’s Square, will be collecting on behalf of Droitwich Spa Foodbank. They will also be encouraging the wider community to donate tinned and jarred foods, dried pasta, rice, soups, biscuits and other long-life items to help provide food parcels to local people in desperate need.
A word from the store director
‘Christmas is a time of the year that everyone should be able to enjoy,’ said store director and optometrist Emma Singh. ‘We hope that by donating food to those in need, we are helping make their festive season a little bit jollier.
‘It’s important to recognise that there are so many people in our community who struggle to provide for themselves and their families. So, as a local business, it’s our responsibility to help as much as we can. We hope the community can get behind us and donate in the lead up to Christmas – I’m sure everyone has a few packets of biscuits or tins of food that they can part with.’
