Dozens of high vis vests keep Ashton kids safe
Specsavers Ashton has helped to ensure that dozens of children will be safe on the roads this season, by supplying high visibility vests to six different schools and scout groups.
Be Safe. Be seen.
In a bid to keep children safe while daylight hours are minimal, the Ladysmith Shopping Centre store has provided vests to Parochial C of E school in Ashton, Guide Bridge Primary, Yew Tree Primary in Dukinfield, Millbrook School in Stalybridge and 5th Scout Group, Hyde.
Dark mornings and nights
At this time of year with the dark mornings and nights, combined with increasingly wintry weather, it can be difficult for motorists to see pedestrians. Many children are walking home from school at dusk, which is a particularly hazardous time.
Helping children and parents feel safe
Store director James Richardson commented: ‘Now that the nights are at their darkest, we want to ensure that children – and their parents – feel safe when they’re out and about over the next few months.
‘By raising awareness and offering the children these vests, we hope that they take extra care on trips and excursions.’
