Coleraine’s Specsavers store and hearing centre has handed over a cheque for £2,615 to the local Alzheimer’s Society. The money was raised as a result of Specsavers’ sponsorship of the annual Rathmore Golf Club fundraising golf day in May when over 200 competitors made donations. A barbeque was also held on the eve of the event.
Contribution to fundraising
Store director Judith Ball said: ‘This was the 14th year that Specsavers has supported this fundraising golf day and we are very proud that over the years almost £30,000 has been raised for local charities.
'As a ‘Dementia Friendly’ store we are very supportive of the important work done by the Alzheimer’s Society and wanted to make a contribution to help this further. We are very grateful to Rathmore Golf Club and all its members for supporting this great event.’
