Does Bangor have the Specs factor?
Specsavers in Bangor is on the hunt for their most fashionable glasses wearers, as the 2017 Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition is launched.
Take a selfie to win
Last year, Bangor Specsavers customer Claire Storey was finalist in the 45-59 age category, thanks to a simple browse through Facebook and an upload of her selfie! This year, Bangor locals can get in on the act by uploading their selfie via the dedicated website, to be in with a chance to win £10,000.
Nadine Coyle, of the multi-platform, multi-award winning girl group, Girls Aloud, took part in a special photo shoot to launch the annual search for the Spectacle Wearer of the Year. Nadine, who was crowned Best Specs Newcomer at the 2016 star-studded awards ceremony says she has been building up her glasses wardrobe ever since.
Andrea Ridgway, store director at Specsavers Bangor in Bloomfield Shopping Centre commented: ‘Not only is this a really fun competition to enter, but each entry helps raise funds for anti-bullying charity Kidscape. The company has raised over £40,000 for the charity in the past six years.’
The competition has five age categories – 16-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-59 and over 60s, as well as a Facebook favourite voted for by the public. A winner from each category will win a VIP makeover and the opportunity to mingle with celebrities at the awards in London in October. To be in with a chance of scooping the biggest accolade in the specs-wearing world, glasses wearers can enter the competition online at Specsavers.co.uk/loveglassescomp
