The DM Sliders triumphed with a landslide victory; winning every game they played to become tournament champions. The team was presented with a trophy, medals and prize of a meal for the whole team at The Beefy Boys restaurant in Hereford.
The store also held a raffle, with tickets available to customers in the week running up to the competition and also on the day. Several local businesses contributed prizes to the raffle, including Henryka, Peter Prosser Hairdressing, The Black Lion pub, Wye Leisure, John McKellar, Dulux, Marks and Spencers, Frankie and Benny's, Halo, The Courtyard, Play Planet, MFS Bowling, West Midland Safari Park, Warner Leisure, Tyrells, The Shack Revolution, Tesco, Health Matters and Elizabeth Tazzer.
‘We’re delighted that the dodgeball competition got such a fantastic response, with so many people taking part,’ said store director Nialle Smith. ‘It was all about having fun and raising money for Sport Relief, and everyone really got into the spirit of it – there were some brilliant team costumes! Thanks to the generosity of our customers, the local companies that donated to the raffle and the teams that entered the competition, we managed to raise an incredible amount.’
