Dodge, duck, dip and dive for charity

25 February, 2016

If you want to have fun while raising money for Sport Relief, Specsavers in Hereford is appealing for teams to sign up to a charity dodgeball competition.

The store is looking for teams of eight (six players plus two subs) to take part in the event on Sunday 13 March at Hereford Leisure Centre. Entry is £40 per team and doors will open at 1pm with the competition starting at 1.30pm. Interested teams, which must include at least one female member, can pick up an application form now from the store.

There will be a voluntary fancy dress theme for teams that want to add a bit of extra fun – whether that’s superheroes or pirates, the choice is yours! The overall winners will receive a free meal at Beefy Boys in Hereford for their team while medals will also be handed out.

‘We’ve run the dodgeball competition before and it’s always been a really enjoyable event,’ said store director Nialle Smith. ‘You don’t have to have played before as the aim is to have fun and raise as much money as we can for Sport Relief. We’ll also be holding a raffle on the day to help boost the fundraising total so if you’re a local business that would like to donate a prize, please let us know.’
