Witham residents were given a magical glimpse into the world of a Disney® film as Specsavers local opticians hosted a fun-day to raise money for East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Staff from Specsavers Witham spent the day in the shoes of their favourite Disney® characters while giving local residents a chance to share in the experience as they raised £120 for the group of local hospices.
On Saturday 9th August, staff at the Witham store swapped their work attire for fairy wings and Mickey Mouse ears. As well as the Disney outfits, customers were able to buy Disney themed cupcakes and take part in a raffle and a ‘guess the number of sweets’ competition to be in with a chance to win a pair of designer glasses from the store’s extensive range. Children were also given the opportunity to win and showcase their creativity by entering Disney® colouring competition in store.
Store Director, Jennifer Bowen, said: ‘We really enjoyed the day. It made a lovely change from our normal working day. Everyone loves Disney® and it’s not every day you get the opportunity to spend a day at work dressed in a Disney® inspired outfit, and all while supporting an amazing cause!
We had some great prizes to give away as well as some delicious cupcakes so we are really looking forward to seeing local residents getting involved in the fun and seeing our community doing its part to help EACH.’
Specsavers stores in and around the region have come together to help the group of hospices that support families and provide care for children and young people with life-threating conditions across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex.
