Didcot sets sights on supporting Film Club
The team from Didcot Specsavers has set its sights on supporting the town’s Film Club.
Films for locals
Sponsoring the local club will give people the chance to see films that would not otherwise be screened in Didcot, and to build a community of film-goers.
‘The Film Club is a fantastic local community initiative which many of our staff enjoy.’ commented store director, Rukhsana Bi. ‘So when the opportunity of supporting the club came up, it made perfect sense for us to step in. Hopefully, our help will mean more people will get the opportunity to view these films and keep this wonderful Didcot club alive.’
‘We are delighted that Specsavers Didcot is supporting the club, as this will enable us to reach a wider audience,’ said the club's founder, David Rouane.
Didcot Film Club was set up in 2012. The films shown at the Club often don't get the wide commercial distribution and include English language arthouse films, those in a foreign language and great old classics. Screenings are monthly on a Wednesday evening and the films are shown in the main hall at Cornerstone on a big screen.
