Design a red nose
Tewkesbury Specsavers encouraged children to celebrate Comic Relief by designing their very own red nose, raising more than £50.
The team in Bishops Walk offered youngsters the chance to win a goody bag of sweets for the most creative design in return for donations. The store chose Miss Brown as the winner because of her colourful and creative design.
A word from the store director
‘It was great to see so many creative entries and Miss Brown's design was brilliant’ said store director Glenn Dunkley, who judged the competition. ‘We wanted to include our younger customers in this year’s Comic Relief fundraising and thought this was a great way to do so.’
Customers were also encouraged to take part in this year’s Comic Relief theme with the Specsavers’ official Red Nose Day specs by taking a waving selfie and sharing it on social media using the hashtag #giveusawave.
Specsavers in Tewkesbury joined other stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa and raised £475,000 for the charity.
