Oakwood welcomes a new opticians on Monday 18 December, as Specsavers opens its doors at the Oakwood District Centre.

Specsavers store directors Uan and Raj Gohil, who are both directors at the Derby Intu Centre store, will be joined by optometrist director Pratish Bhundia to open the store in time for Christmas. The store has three testing rooms offering customers the latest technology, including a significant investment in the state-of-the-art Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine, which captures a 3D image of the eye to allow the optometrist to analyse it for any problem areas and is the most advanced optical technology on the market.

The store will provide eight new jobs for the area.

Store director Uan Gohil said: ‘We’re really looking forward to welcoming customers into our new store. With Pratish joining the team, we will be offering the very best in customer care from a very experienced team. We’re looking forward to bringing high-quality eyecare to the community, as well as contributing more widely by supporting local groups and charities in the area.’

The store is open seven days a week, and bookings can be made either online or over the phone.
