All staff at the Saffron Walden store recently underwent training to improve the level of support they are able to offer dementia sufferers in store.
The team is now fully qualified as Dementia Friends, an Alzheimer’s Society initiative which helps staff to develop an understanding of dementia, and support customers and employees who are affected by the condition.

Kuldip Randhawa, store director at Saffron Walden Specsavers, said: ‘Customer care and support is of paramount importance to us, and we are constantly striving to offer the best service to people in the town.
‘Having the entire team take part in the Dementia Friends training is something we are very proud of. Not only is it important to us to have a good understanding of the condition, it also means we can care for dementia sufferers appropriately when they visit us in store.’
