Specsavers opticians in Dagenham celebrated their new store by giving something back to the local community.

The opticians invited local footballing heroes from Dagenham & Redbridge to the new look store for a ribbon cutting ceremony before making a donation to the club’s Community Trust.

Specsavers Dagenham store director, Gurjit Sehmi, said: ‘It was great to have the footballers down to officially open our new store. We are supporting the Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club’s Community Trust with a donation to support their activities.

Their work in the community ranges from organising free football courses to educational activities in schools and afternoon activity sessions for those aged 50 and over.’

Steve Thompson, M.B.E Managing Director of Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club, said: ‘We are pleased to have supported the Dagenham Specsavers store for this important occasion. We are grateful for their donation and support which enables us to work in the local community. We hope this will be the beginning of ongoing partnership with the store.’
