Cutting ribbon on brand-new Fort Kinnaird store
A signed Andy Murray top is amongst the raffle prizes up for grabs when an Edinburgh opticians officially opens its new premises.
Specsavers, previously located within Asda at The Jewel, opened its doors in Fort Kinnaird Retail Park earlier this month, to extend its customers reach and allow more eye tests to be carried out.
To celebrate the opening, the store will hold an official launch party on Saturday, 18 April.
Showcasing new range in fashion show
The store will hold a fashion show in conjunction with New Look, revealing this season’s sunglasses range along with the latest fashions.
There will also be a photo booth, DJ, face-painters, balloon modellers and a piper and drummer present, encouraging shoppers of all ages to get involved in the celebrations.
To mark the opening, staff will be hosting an in-store raffle in aid of the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS), offering the chance to win a signed top from Andy Murray, which participants can enter until April 30.
Dedicated to caring for customer's needs
Tracy Galloway, Retail Director at Specsavers Edinburgh, says: ‘Having spent the past 25 years at The Jewel, we are delighted to be able to reach out to more customers from our bigger and better premises.
‘We’re committed to providing the residents of Edinburgh with the best optical service in town and, with the addition of the Specsavers Edinburgh hearing team, we have one of the strongest offerings in the area when it comes to optical and hearcare services.
Liam Smith, Centre Manager for Fort Kinnaird, says: ‘We pride ourselves on being able to meet as many of our shoppers’ needs as possible and the arrival of Specsavers ticks this box for us.
‘I’m sure Specsavers will be a popular addition to the centre and we look forward to welcoming them when they open.’
Doubling in size and reach
The new store is 2,000 sq. ft., double the size of the previous store, and features six test rooms, a dedicated contact lens department and extended opening hours.
The store also boasts a dedicated in-store Hearing Centre, fitted with a state-of-the-art soundproof hearing booth.
The move has seen 35 staff relocate to Fort Kinnaird, ensuring that the same high standard of customer service Jewel customers have come to expect is maintained.
