Brownhills thanks customers for donated specs
Generous customers to Brownhills Specsavers have donated more than 300 pairs of specs to help an overseas sight charity.
The team has received hundreds of pairs of unwanted glasses for Vision Aid Overseas (VAO), who recycle and sell on the specs to support their work in developing countries.
‘Collecting so many pairs of specs is a great achievement and will help VAO continue their fantastic work to make eyecare accessible for people in developing countries,’ said Justine Page, store director.
‘Most people who wear glasses will have old pairs they no longer use, due to a change in prescription or style. Donating them to VAO can help to improve the quality of life for those in countries where eyecare is still limited.’
Vision Aid Overseas is dedicated to fighting poverty by transforming access to eyecare in developing countries and raises money by selling the materials recycled from old glasses. The process is environmentally friendly and enables the charity to fund its overseas projects. Find out more at www.visionaidoverseas.org.
