Susan Carolan recognised for going the extra mile

Optical supervisor Susan Carolan from Specsavers in Solihull has been recognised with a Customer First Award, for going the extra mile.

Exceptional service 

Nominated by the store’s admin manager, Nicola Smith, Susan went above and beyond to ensure an elderly customer with dementia got the specs she needed and that she was fitted at her home.

When the customer first came in for her sight test, Susan picked up that she was struggling with her surroundings and so offered to deliver the glasses to her home and fit them there to save her stress.  Susan used her own time to visit the customer – driving to their home in her lunch hour and taking the time to ensure that she was totally satisfied.

‘Susan is a credit to our store and quite simply makes us all very proud,’ said store director Brad Parkes. ‘She often goes above and beyond her call of duty and so it’s great that she’s received the recognition in the form of this Award.’
