Croydon opticians kick off Children in Need drive

Eyecare experts in Croydon are launching their Children in Need fundraising campaign with a bumper charity raffle.

The teams from Specsavers stores in Croydon North End and Croydon Church Street are championing Children in Need in the community, and are kicking off their drive with an in-store raffle after collecting more than 20 prizes from local businesses and residents.

Alison Gaskin of Specsavers in Croydon said: ‘The Children in Need appeal touches the hearts of the nation and, here at Specsavers, we really want to bring the community together in support of this special cause. Thanks to so many generous donations to our raffle collection, there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs in our first Children in Need initiative of the year. Pop by our Croydon stores from September to get your tickets.’

Raffle tickets will be on sale from Tuesday 1 September at Specsavers stores in Croydon. Prizes up for grabs include single vision specs from Specsavers, a meal for two at Cadillac Diner, four tickets to Cinderella at Fairfield Halls and a chocolate hamper. Tickets cost 50p each or £1 per strip of five tickets.

The teams will also be coming together at Specsavers in Croydon North End on Saturday 7 November, when there will be a Children in Need charity day, complete with a prize tombola and teddy tombola.

The nationwide Children in Need televised Appeal Night will take place on Friday 13 November this year.
