The team at Specsavers Cowley joined a number of other stores in the Templars Square Shopping Centre to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital and local children’s charity, Rosy, on Friday 3 June.

Fun, games and prizes

Staff at the store offered fun, games and prizes for customers and passers-by, including ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ and ‘name the teddy bear’ competitions.

Store director, Jason Komodikis, said: ‘We were delighted to take part in such a fantastic event for two equally brilliant charities. There was plenty to entertain eager shoppers throughout the day, and we enjoyed seeing customers, old and new, in store.’

A range of activities were running throughout the event, including Zumba sessions at the Feel Fit Gym, workshops at the Drumming School and fitness fun with GKR Karate.

Funds for childrens charties

All activities were free on the day, with suggested donations and funds raised split between Great Ormond Street, a national charity that specialises in paediatric care and treating childhood illness, and Rosy, a local organisation that provides respite nursing to the county’s terminally, acutely or chronically ill children.
