Cosham opticians get muddy for Help For Heroes

05 December, 2014

Specsavers in Cosham encouraged local residents to support two members of staff’s participation in the Tough Mudder challenge, in aid Help For Heroes.

12-mile obstacle course

Store manager Leanne Meadows and contact lens manager Faye Mounteney, from Specsavers in Cosham, took part in the 12-mile obstacle course designed to test all-around stamina, agility and teamwork.

Themed days

The store is hosted a two-week fundraiser with various themes on each day to encourage sponsorships for the staff. Themes included a ‘coloured contact lens day’, where staff wore an assortment of contact lenses and a ‘fashion is our passion day’, where staff glammed it up in designer specs.

Cosham community support

Store director Julia Moulton said: ‘We're very happy at how much support we received from the Cosham community to raise money for Help for Heroes.

Tough Mudder

‘The staff were put through their paces in Tough Mudder! We had a bake sale on Saturday which was a great success as well. We'd just like to thank everyone who donated throughout our two week fundraiser.’
