Connswater Specsavers duty manager Stuart Brown joined UTV presenters Marc Mallet and Pamela Ballantine to launch this year’s Sunday Life Spirit of Northern Ireland Awards with Specsavers. Also at the launch event was last year’s overall winner Jay Beatty who was recognised for his work in raising awareness of Downs Syndrome.
What’s new for 2016?
The annual awards ceremony, which will be televised by UTV, seeks to honour all those who make a real difference every day across Northern Ireland. This year there will be 10 categories including: Unsung Hero, Overcoming Adversity, Spirit of Youth, 999 Hero, Charity Champion, Spirit of Health, Spirit of Education, Caring Spirit Award, Spirit of Sport and the overall Sunday Life Spirit of Northern Ireland Award.

All those who submit nominations through an email or by filling in a form in the Connswater store will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 eye-care voucher and a VIP experience at the awards, including an overnight stay at the Culloden Estate & Spa, courtesy of Specsavers. Closing date for nominations is Friday April 22.
