The team at Market Harborough has been putting the eye care needs of those who need it most firmly in their sights during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Specsavers has suspended all routine testing for the foreseeable future to focus on essential and urgent care only, particularly for key workers. 

‘We are here to make sure our key workers and vulnerable customers are getting their much-needed glasses, repair services, contact lenses and audiology accessories as quickly and as safely as possible, fully sanitised,’ said store director, Umesh Mistry. ‘And so, for the past week staff have been doorstep delivering after we close the store - no matter how far. 

‘We have already seen several customers with emergency eye complaints and NHS workers that require replacement glasses. The team have been amazing with their response – it’s challenging times for us all and I’m so incredibly proud of their commitment and dedication through this unprecedented crisis.’ 

Specsavers' teams are classed as key workers to provide urgent and essential eye care to those who need it. This includes supporting other key workers who couldn’t function without their help and people who would come to harm without their health expertise, especially where the usual hospital services and NHS facilities are being prioritised for the fight against COVID-19.
