Specsavers in Coleraine shared eye and hearing care advice to staff at the Northern Regional College (NRC), at a recent health and wellbeing event at the Coleraine campus.
Organised by the NRC, the session is part of a programme of events being rolled out across all of the college’s campuses over the coming months. The event was designed to promote the importance of good health and well-being to the college workforce.
Optical assistant, Alison McAuley, along with the rest of the team at the Kingsgate Street store, often attend events such as these in the Coleraine area.
Judith Ball, store director, said: ‘I feel it is essential to provide advice and information to the local community on the importance of looking after both their hearing and eyesight.
‘Events such as the one organised by NRC, provides us with an opportunity to let people know about the range of optical and hearing services that we provide to our customers.
‘We understand the importance of supporting such events. Employees are a valuable asset to any business, and ensuring that you help to look after their health and wellbeing is good business practice.
‘We handed out leaflets and spoke to many of the staff from the college, and also to visitors on the day. As a result we have booked in several NRC staff for hearing and eye test appointments over the summer months.’
