Colchester opticians serve up a Halloween treat
Colchester opticians provided a bundle of treats without the tricks on 26 and 28 October at their annual spook-tacular kids days, with an array of costumes, goody bags and old-fashioned fun.
Staff from Specsavers, located on Long Wyre Street, swapped their uniforms for spooky costumes and hosted two special kids days on Wednesday 26 and Friday 28 last week, with activities on the day including face painting and a movie marathon as the local community showed their support for the special day.
Store director, Nick Hagan says: ‘This is one of our favorite traditions in store, and with the very first National Children’s Eye Health Month we thought it was more appropriate than ever to bring a focus to children’s eye health, something that is often overlooked.’
Specsavers has launched the awareness month following its joint research with the Royal National Institute of Blind People, which revealed that despite children’s eye tests being free with an NHS voucher, around 20% of school age children still have an undiagnosed vision problem.
