Specsavers opticians in Colchester held an action packed fancy dress fun-day at the Long-Wyre Street store, in aid of Help for Heroes.

The team invited a face painter in-store to help children get into the fundraising spirit and offered glasses MOTs in exchange for donations.

Nick Hagan from Specsavers Colchester says: ‘I think it’s very important we show our support for our troops, especially because Colchester is a town with strong military heritage. '

We really enjoyed getting onto the spirit and would like to thank our customers and local residents for their generous donations.’

Help for Heroes was founded in 2007 and offers support to wounded servicemen and women.
